As outlined in Ontario’s Museums 2025: Strategic Vision and Action Plan (Effective and Collaborative Workforce, p.7), the OMA is committed to advancing an effective, collaborative and inclusive museum workforce and a museum sector that is vital to community life and the well-being of Ontarians. We believe that equity in recruitment and employment, and access to decent work are essential to helping museum professionals and organizations thrive.
To support fair employment practices, the OMA has implemented a wage transparency policy for the OMA Job Board.
- All job postings must include salary, salary range, hourly wage, or other remuneration information for the position.
- The OMA reserves the right to withhold or remove the postings if salary, salary range, hourly wage, or other remuneration information is not provided.
The OMA encourages all of its members to adhere to the principle of wage transparency and to disclose salary information in all job postings on all platforms.
The OMA’s wage transparency policy was developed in partnership with the Group of Ontario Emerging Museum Professionals (GOEMP) and in consideration of the OntarioNonprofit Network Decent Work Movement et Ontario’s Pay Transparency Act.
