We are looking for an Assistant, Exhibition Design
As an Assistant, Exhibition Design, you will be responsible for preparing and finalizing plans, elevations, display and fabrication drawings, specifications, and other related documents for various exhibition design products for the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum. You will also handle design tasks related to exhibition maintenance, remediation, and updates. Working within a Scenographic team, you will integrate your knowledge across multiple design fields, including industrial design, architecture, graphic design, and more.

Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of recent experience in:
• Exhibition design or a related field.
• Manipulating typography, images, color, and shapes in 2D and 3D spaces.
• Developing and presenting conceptual, preliminary, and final designs.
• Producing plans and technical drawings for exhibition elements, including furniture and graphics.
• Estimating materials related to proposed designs.
• Conducting on-site quality control for exhibition installations.
Knowledge of:
• General principles of exhibition design.
• Architectural, industrial, and graphic design fundamentals.
• 2D and 3D design software (e.g., VectorWorks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Familiarity with design and production standards for graphics.
• Awareness of construction industry standards and practices.
• Materials and production methods for diverse exhibit applications.
• Best practices in accessibility, ergonomics, and anthropometry for diverse audiences.
• Basic lighting techniques relevant to exhibition design.
• Audiovisual and interactive production integration in exhibitions.
Education: College diploma or university degree in scenography, industrial design, environmental design or architecture, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation: $ 68,493 to $ 84,767
Status: Temporary Full-Time Position (2 years) (# 90377)

Location: 100, Laurier Street, Gatineau, Quebec
