We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our museum team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all building occupants. This position involves performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the facility meets high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning of all areas within the facility, including restrooms, offices, hallways, and gallery areas.
- Conduct commercial cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Maintain cleanliness in outdoor areas as needed, including entrances and walkways.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and reporting any maintenance issues to management.
- Ensure that cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored, maintained and replenished.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures while performing cleaning duties to ensure a safe working environment.
- Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests or spills as they arise.
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards work.
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
Expected hours: 4 – 6 per week
