About the position
Reporting to the Project Manager/Senior Content Developer, the Exhibition Content Developer leads the interpretive planning and content development for exhibitions, permanent galleries, and other content projects that align with the Museum’s mission and its current strategic objectives.
Working in multidisiplinary project teams, the incumbent of this position is the public spokesperson; they define and develop appropriate audience-driven interpretive approaches, strategies and tools for communication that guide the development of accessible, inclusive and highly engaging visitor experiences.
The Exhibition Content Developer creates, develops, produces, tests, evaluates, and documents innovative content for analog and digital experiences.
Working in close collaboration with Project Managers, they liase, maintain relationships and facilitate dialogue with internal and external advisors and community groups to integrate multiple perspectives and facilitate content co-creation that align with the visitor experience and science education objectives.
They also perform other related duties as
required.

Eligibility criteria
This position is open to all Employees of the Canadian Museum of
Nature and any members of the public who meet the qualifications below.
*Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Education and training:
Completion of relevant post-secondary education in a museum-related discipline including natural sciences, museum studies, education, communications or a related field of study OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Language requirements:
English and French are essential Bilingual Non-Imperative: CBC/CBC
Experience:
2-3 years experience in defining and developing
appropriate audience-driven interpretive approaches, strategies and tools for
communication.
2-3 years experience in creating innovative interpretive plans and
creative concepts for
exhibitions
and/or other content products.
Experience in conceiving, researching, developing, costing
and acquiring interpretive media for diverse exhibition, educational and
content products.
Experience in proposing,
designing, conducting and analyzing visitor evaluation studies throughout
the development of exhibition, educational and other content products.
Experience managing project communication and coordination,
including liaising and maintaining relationships with internal and
external individuals and groups necessary for the development of
exhibition, educational and other content products.
Other requirements:
The candidate may have to work some weekends and/or evenings.
