The Ontario Museum Association is looking for an early-career marketing, project management or heritage professional to lead a thirteen-month project to oversee the development of a training program that builds capacity in rural museums to enhance their market readiness and develop their capacity for partnerships as part of a regional tourism cluster and integrated destination approaches.
The successful candidate will get experience working with stakeholders and trainers, managing projects, people and timelines, and delivering results for a government funder. You will have stories to tell and a final report to show, as you build your career.
The Project Coordinator (TGP) position at the Ontario Museum Association is a full-time (32 hours per week at $29/hour), 13-month contract position funded by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FEDDEV), through the Tourism Growth Program (TGP). The coordinator will
- Manage product development and pilot phases;
- Coordinate with all project stakeholders and partners, by organizing, managing, and leading stakeholder meetings and communications;
- Supervise and delegate project tasks to a part-time Project Assistant;
- Monitor project progress, and budget, ensuring funder (FedDev) requirements for project are met;
- Evaluate a pilot project, and develop a communications strategy to promote the final product to a province-wide audience; and
- Create a Final Summative Report of project activities, outcomes, and next steps.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage product development and pilot phases, ensuring it is fit for purpose and aligned with OMA brand, mission, and operational models
- Coordinate and liaise with all project stakeholders and partners (including Service partners, OMA staff, and Regional Museum Network (RMN) pilot groups)
- Organize, manage, and lead stakeholder meetings and communications
- Maintain and organize all project documents and files
- Complete quarterly reporting to TGP program (in consultation with Operations Manager)
- Provide regular project check-ins to OMA Operations Manager and Executive Director
- Supervise and delegate project tasks to Project Assistant
- Monitor project progress, anticipate and resolve problems, and manage to deadlines
- Ensure all budgetary objectives are met, adjusting as needed.
- Ensure funder (FedDev) visibility requirements for project are met throughout the project
- Develop (with stakeholder input) evaluation of pilot project
- Consolidate final product (post-pilot phase) within OMA PD service and resource structure
- Develop a communications strategy to promote final product (provincial audience)
- Create Final Summative Report of project activities, outcomes, and next steps

Essentials:
· Post-secondary education diploma or degree in communications, adult education, tourism/art/heritage administration, creative industries or equivalent experience
· 1 year+ demonstrated project, program or event management/coordination experience
· Well-organized with ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and logistics, and meet multiple deadlines
· Ability to set clear goals, timelines, resource allocations, and track progress

· Project Management certification
· Experience working in cultural heritage
· Experience working in Tourism Marketing –particularly Integrated Destination Management
· Experience in organizing/teaching adult learning or training programs
· Bilingualism (French) and/or Indigenous Language(s) knowledge/ability
